Intensive Program on Sustainability (IPoS) 2011
IPoS 2011 was held in Kanchanaburi Province and Pathumtani Province in Thailand and the theme of this year was “Sustainable livelihoods through integrative practices with emphasis on Food, Water and Sanitation in a peri-urban community-”. Participants proposed strategic plans for development of the target area through mutual understanding of the area. The target area was a small sub district "Ban Pathum" in Pathumthani Province. A pilot project conducted by AIT aiming at improvement of water environment and sanitation through introducing appropriate technologies and environmental education was used as a case study.
In addition, I gave two lectures. One was "Japanese experience on feces and waster water management" for stimulating participants' discussion for their final presentation. The other was a special session about the earthquake, the tsunami and the nuclear accidents, which Japan has experiences since March 11, 2011.
今年は“Sustainable livelihoods through integrative practices with emphasis on Food, Water and Sanitation in a peri-urban community-”をテーマとし、タイのカンチャナブリ県とバンコク近郊のパトゥムタニ県において実施しました。
